Bhadrachalam is a famous temple dedicated to
"Lord Sree Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple"

situated on the banks of the sacred river Godavari.

One can reach Bhadrachalam, from Burgampad, from the northern side of the river Godavari. From Burgampad, boats ply over the river Godavari. From Burgampad, boats ply over the river to Bhadrachalam. One can also reach it from Rajahmundry, which is an important railway station on the 40 miles or so by steamer over the river Godavari. The temple cannot thus be reached by easy means of communication, and has to be reached only by a difficult boat journey over the river Godavari and also all kinds of transportation is available to the temple.

 
 

  How to visit...

Bhadrachalam is reachable from all major cities in Andhra Pradesh, and other states. Via with (Khammam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Hanumakonda, Rajahmundry) regular buses plying in that route.

Air : Vijayawada is the nearest airport.
Rail : Koththagudem is the nearest rail head at a distance of 40 km.
Bus : State buses every hour from Koththagudem,which is connected with Vijayawada, Khammam, Machilipatnam, Tenali, Kakinada, Nalgonda and Hyderabad.

 
   
 

  Temple Facts to file...

 
The temple is kept open from 4:30 in the morning and stays so till 1:00 in the noon. The temple usually remains closed during the noon hours, and reopens in the evening at 3:00 p.m. The temple closes in the night after the last pujas are performed by 8:30. Festivals of Sri Ramanavami (March-April) and Kalyana Mahotsavam, celebrated in a grand manner here, attract thousands of devotees. Pilgrims take a holy dip in Godavari on the occasion of Karthik Poornima (October - November).
